Open items collects the Mapping, Session and Workflow editors open in the workspace. Each tab represents an editing context; it is not a published version or a running job. Name, type and pending-change marker support navigation, but object identity, tenant and version remain the reference.
Before you begin
Open related synthetic objects with distinct names. Confirm tenant and location before working across several tabs. Understand the difference between saving a draft, publishing a version, executing and discarding a local change. Navigation and memory optimizations do not replace Save.
Procedure
- Open the Mapping, Session and Workflow for a laboratory process. Identify each tab by name and type.
- Switch tabs and return to the editor. Continuing an edit does not prove it was saved or published.
- Make a reversible edit and inspect the pending-change marker. Save if intended or revert the change; wait for the accepted result.
- Open a tab context menu and read whether an action affects one item, several items or other tabs. Avoid bulk closing when needed changes remain.
- When closing a changed editor, deliberately choose Save, Discard or Cancel from the presented options. Cancel preserves context; discarding local changes does not delete the saved object.
- Reopen from Repository or its manager and check identifier, saved content and version. Only publication establishes a published version.
- Before changing tenant, signing out or finishing, review pending items and resolve each deliberately.
Verify the result
Modify a synthetic description, switch to another tab, return and cancel closing. Verify the draft remains present. Then revert or save the change, close and reopen to confirm expected persisted state. This exercise does not require executing the Workflow.
Errors and recovery
If an editor differs from expectations, check type, identifier, tenant and version before changing it. A closed tab does not prove deletion, and a visible draft does not prove publication. On compact screens use keyboard focus and offered menus. Investigate loading errors before repeating actions.
Synthetic example
Open m_CustomerNames and s_CustomerNames in Training. Change a laboratory description, visit the Session and return to the Mapping; explicitly save or discard before closing.
Environment context
Before using this module, confirm Tenant, Domain and Environment in the user menu. The initial environment is Development. Module, Domain and environment capabilities apply together; Production is read only without explicit authorization. Switching the selector does not move artifacts or publish or execute their data. See environments and recovery and environment promotion.
