Dova Docs26.0.0
Open Dova

Scope of this edition

This manual describes Dova 23.0.2. Confirm your installation's active version before following a procedure. This reference retains its historical route to preserve existing links; the title and edition identify its current content.

Monitor and operational diagnosis

Compact logs combine timestamp, level, component and message with filters, following and display pause. Cards and live progress read counters from the current attempt; phases, rows, bytes and rate depend on evidence reported by the worker. Unknown totals are not represented as completion percentages. The list updates its cells while retaining filters, selection and scroll.

The Gantt uses compact rows and distinguishes Workflow, Session and Mapping through kind and hierarchy. Session duration belongs within its orchestration rather than additional time to add to the Workflow bar. Open the attempt to inspect the versions actually executed.

Safe worker errors retain classified causes, phases and available limits. An input exceeding a profile maximum differs from a protected existing destination. Free physical disk does not increase input limits or executor temporary memory. Earlier attempts without original exceptions do not acquire retrospective evidence.

Session and dependencies

Sessions → Runtime shows available variables, meanings, examples and the last actual value associated with a run. %RUN_TIMESTAMP% contributes to output filenames when timestamps are effectively enabled. Inherit with a disabled global preference does not apply the token even when written in the template. A preview illustrates settings rather than proving an actual output filename.

The compact Workflow chain retains name, kind, consumed version and newer-version availability. Update versions changes the draft; Save draft → Publish adopts that revision for later attempts. Reload status and opening an artifact only inspect it.

Read-only DovaAI

DovaAI follows the user's language and recommends the right component, fields and values through brief steps. To replace exactly jorge with Jorge it recommends Replace values with exact matching; Field selector retains only chosen fields. It uses the public manual and authorized Workflow and Session evidence to separate confirmed causes from hypotheses.

The assistant never creates, edits, configures, publishes, runs or deletes artifacts, even with confirmation. You make changes through the normal controls. This policy replaces assisted artifact creation from earlier versions.

Environment promotions

Configuration → Promotions follows Development → Test → Stage → Production. It promotes an immutable bundle containing published Workflow, Sessions and Mappings and their exact versions, applies destination bindings and creates separate artifacts without changing the originals. Review the diff, worker, plan, DPU and concurrency before confirming. Production requires explicit approval and a comment.

History supports manifest export with Git provenance and restoration of historical definitions through new versions. It contains no credentials or usable secret references. Promotion does not execute Workflows, enable schedules, undo external data or start GitHub Actions. Development, Test and Stage use Development processing; Production uses the effective plan's Production processing.

Acceptance

  1. Confirm version, tenant, permissions and location.
  2. Inspect profiles, variables and dependencies before editing settings.
  3. Use a laboratory and synthetic data to test an identifiable output.
  4. Compare logs, counters, versions, schema and the final file.
  5. Personally review and confirm each promotion or restoration; retain its evidence.

Changes in 23.0.1

  1. Compact Timestamp and Message logs with expandable structured details.
  2. Optional Workflow and Session TRACE with inheritance and generation disabled by default.
  3. Gantt typography and tooltips aligned with Dova.
  4. Compact List with W/S badges, hierarchy and aligned columns.
  5. Existing-row and new-execution updates without flicker, preserving reading context.
  6. Delete removes the selection when focus is in the Mappings canvas and outside text editors.
  7. Clean text suggests operations from the first letter and adds capitalize, title, ltrim, rtrim and remove_line_breaks.
  8. Sessions → General orders Domain → Folder → Mapping and loads choices on opening.
  9. DovaAI recommends the component directly, a short flow and steps with exact properties and values; it remains strictly read only.

Changes in 23.0.2

  1. Monitor → List and Gantt display the WF and SES icons and badges used in workspace tabs.
  2. Full Screen enters and leaves the Mappings and Workflows canvas in the same editor, preserving selection, zoom, position and DovaAI access.
  3. DOVA_DATA_GRID actions show progress and block other actions in the same grid until completion or failure.
  4. Filters use states applicable to their module; Mappings offers Draft and Published.
  5. Mappings adds Used by (Sessions), Location, Last published and Description, configurable in Columns.
  6. Administrator grids preserve menus and position during updates. Cloud Workers provides native controls according to provider and an ordered preparation flow to resolve dependencies and deprovision in the cloud before removing the Dova registration.
  7. Administrator reuses frequent reads in RAM with expiry, limits and invalidation, respecting tenant, role and permissions.
  8. Overview updates charts without unmounting them, checks changes every five seconds and identifies the last confirmed read when refresh fails.
  9. Overview permanently includes vm-cloudata-pe as the Dova Base server for platform administrators, separate from execution workers and visible even without metrics.

This edition retains Linux worker 1.3.14. VM actions respect actual provider capabilities: native Pause and Resume are available for GCP; Azure offers Start, Stop and Deprovision; AWS VM lifecycle management is unavailable in this edition. States and results are checked against their source; refreshing a screen does not complete an operation.
